A little bit about me :

I was brought up just outside Peebles and attended school in the town. After that I started my working life in the motor trade and didn't really leave for 24 years!  For most of those years I worked as the sales administrator at the local Ford garage and I enjoyed my job as it was so varied and challenging.

However in my early 30s I had a "what am I doing with my life?" moment which led me to look at retraining and changing my career which, in turn, led me (somewhat unexpectedly) to massage.

I studied with the Scottish School of Professional Massage, beginning my training in 2005.  Once I had gained my diploma in Therapeutic and Foundation Remedial Massage I continued with the diploma in Sports Massage and I started the business in 2006. In 2009 I began training in Manual Lymph Drainage and completed the final stage in 2012 thus allowing me to carry out Combined Decongestive Therapy for those with primary or secondary lymphoedema.  After 5 years of building up my client base and working extremely long hours I took the plunge to go full time with the business in 2011 and, fortunately, have never looked back.   I enhanced my massage therapy with an extensive course of advanced remedial massage workshops and  I have also studied Myofascial Therapy, Kinesio Taping and Sharon Wheeler's ScarWork.  I have an interest in both bladder and bowel incontinence and have created a training programme for both of these.  My other passion is allowing the older client to maintain joint mobility and balance and to help them prevent a fall but also what to do when one happens.

I am a member of the Institute for Sports and Remedial Massage, the Scottish Massage Therapits Organisation and Lipoedema UK/  These professional bodies are vital as they provide a  potential client with the knowledge that their members are working at a consistently high level of expertise. Should you be interested in the work of these professional organisations please click here for links to their websites.

I am fully insured and have First Aid qualifications.

The majority of my clients are not particularly sporty or are weekend warriors however I have worked a lot in the past at various sporting events including the Edinburgh Rat Race, the Edinburgh Half Marathon and the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow.  I worked with Peebles RFC for 7 seasons and have been fortunate to be able to assist the Scottish Womens Rugby Union team, the South African Springboks and several elite sports people from biking, running, judo and equestrian.
